I believe this green has not been bowled on since around the year of 2000, judging by what had been noted down in the fixture diary, that i had stumbled upon within the grounds.. there were no real signs of any disruption, with the exception of the overgrowth..

  • Spent a long time on that bottom green myself and family. Wouldn't belive that was the best county green ever!

  • im a bowler in leeds and have been for 15 years now and its sad to see greens go to waste like this,is there nothing that can be done???

  • learned bowls on this green 20 years ago. Can't believe what has happened to it!

  • Spent 8 happy years bowling at Grimethorpe. Without doubt the best green in Yorkshire - it is criminal to see what has happened to it.
