Juancho Hunting in Grandma's Garden

A Juancho, mi lagarto colorado o tupinambis rufescens, también le gusta cazar caracoles en el jardín de la abuela. A veces no los ve, pero su lengua le provee un gran sentido del olfato, como podrán observar. Es bastante quisquilloso en quitarle la caparazón a los caracoles, así que se toma su tiempo. Los busca en las plantas y debajo de suelo también, ya que sabe cavar muy bien. Una vez satisfecho, descansa sobre su manzano. Espero les guste. Juancho, my red tegu or tupinambis rufescens, also likes hunting snails in grandma's garden. Sometimes he doesnt see them, but his tongue provides him a big sense of smell, as you can see. He is quite touchy in removing the shell from the snails so he takes his time. He looks for them in the plants and under the ground too, because he knows how to dig very well. Hey my Tegu Is hibernating... how warm should i make it to bring him out of it?

@Silverws69 Well, you will know the right temperature when you see that he is awake and moving back again from hibernation. It's a natural process so you should cut it off by making your house warmer. =)

I'm sorry about the lack of new videos from my part, I've been terribly busy in the last year with at the university and the job that I just can't sit down to edit videos since I don't get well with them and take me many hours! However, I can tell you that she is doing great, her best time of the year is coming (summer here) so she'll be more active now eating all the stuff she loves. Thanks for asking and hope I can make some time for a new vid. =)

@cheeserollinger12345 i know this is somewhat a late reply but a sorce of UV light is needed such as a UVB/UVA bulb, and a heat sorce, as babys a heat bad under their hide will be good for night time, and a heat lamp that runs 8-12hrs a day for basking. and for the first year or so. i would recoment the largest tank you can get, of coarse the larger the tank the longer you will have till u must build a custom incloser 40 gallon is a good starter and will last till hes a year old then its up to u
