@Dharkhaze17 Certain parts of Pripyat have hardly any radiation left at all. Most do have a fair amount, but the city as a whole does not have an amount that would kill off human life instantly.

@SUPERFREEZER98 They were running a safety test in which they had to shut down one of the reactors. It was meant to be done by the senior team of scientists but they were working during the day and they wanted to do it at night so as to cause minimum disruption to the power supply. However it was the junior team of scientists on the night shift that night and they fucked up. The members of the junior team got off the charges, but the senior team got something like 10 years in prison each.
