Detox is the third and final studio album by American hip-hop artist Dr. Dre, set to be released in year 2011 through Aftermath Entertainment and Interscope Records. Production for the album began in 2002 but has been delayed several times because Dr. Dre wanted to concentrate on producing for artists that were on his Aftermath record label, with the production delays being compared to Guns 'N Roses long delayed album Chinese Democracy (2008). Initially announced in 2000 after the release of Dr. Dre's previous album 2001 (1999), Detox has gone through many renditions during its ten-year production period, with the album being scrapped and restarted many times. Production for the final version of the album is expected to including Dr. Dre himself (who will also be the album's executive producer), Alex da Kid, Dawaun Parker, Denaun Porter, Hi-Tek, Just Blaze, DJ Khalil, Swizz Beatz, RZA, and Scott Storch, among others. Dr. Dre has stated that this will be his final album.
The album has had several leaked tracks and spawned three official singles, most of which have been since removed from the album. The first single, "Under Pressure", had an incomplete version leaked featuring Jay-Z and was since canceled. The second, "Kush", featured Akon and Snoop Dogg, and reached number 34 on the Billboard Hot 100. "I Need a Doctor" featured Eminem and Skylar Grey, peaking at number four on the Hot 100 chart. The fourth single is "The Psycho" with 50 Cent and is expected to be released in late 2011.
