@ChronoCrossKid True, the free'd exhaust allows more of the inert gasses to escape the engine and allows more oxygen to enter the combustion chamber under vacuum. This increases combustion temperatures greatly. Running an open exhaust like this is really hard on the exhaust valves. Gets them way hotter than with a cat in place. without the cat the excess fuel is being burned up in the combustion chamber instead of igniting with the serium (oxygenated chemical) in the cat.

Yep, the us model is under powered due to emissions. My wifes rx8 has good coils, 30k motor with only a ms exhaust and only made 191whp and 132 tq on a mustang dyno. jdm are rated @ 250 i think.

are the US RX8s got less power than the European 1's? i stay in scotland in the UK and my RX8 was put to wallace performance on the rolling road and i was pumping out 239bhp and 181lbs torque, i only have an AEM air filter
