St. Lucia is the Saint of Light from Italy. She was seen in Sweden crossing a lake with candle in her hair. Every December 13th the oldest daughter wears her crown of candle and brings sweet bread and coffee to her family. In Sweden they celebrate in Churches, Schools, Business and home.

I've heard of St Lucia (Island) in the West Indies, not anything about her being patron Saint in Sweden.

I wonder if any Swedes today remember the Svenska Västindiska Kompaniet?
