Dominica Dance Party

How it all began.
Dance Party DA was a replica of the once popular Dance Party USA. It was the brain work of Sheridan Gregoire and Dennise Joseph. Sometime in 1989, an add on the radio and news media in Dominica was asking for dancers to audition for a TV Dance program. A number of teens presented themselves for the audition. The audition was held upstairs the Courts building in Roseau Dominica in The West Indies (not Dominican Republic please!) which was the physical address of The Saman Tree-a popular night club. Saman Tree was also the location where Dance Party Da was recorded live. The scene was a dance competition.Oh! and the camera was not the wining prize. I did win the competition. There is a saying see Paris and die but see Dominica first. I have been asked this question many times where is Dominica? I simply say google it or watch Pirates of the Caribbean Dead Man's chest that's where the movie was filmed.Part of it i.e.

It was a copy of the former Dance Party USA television show.The Dominican(not Dominican Republic) show took place in 89-90. The show was televised every friday night. That particular event was a dance competition and A.K.A Kenny won.
