my dad used to sing this song to me when i was little to put me to sleep every night and im going to do exactly the same when my baby arrives i just wish i could meet the mike in person so i could shake his hand and thank him for everything a lot of his songs have helped me through a lot of hard times wnd when im feeling low this is the best tonic available :) is he still in the yorkshire area or has he moved away does anyone know?

@downingr2 The reason I said He was stuck up is because He said He hated people smoking rollup cigs and then told the roadie who was rolling one to go outside. That left me with the impression of him being snobby. Maybe I'm wrong. After all, I never said a word to the guy.

@neil73 i met him in 1980 in the sing out club in crewe we spent all night talking and chattting shit was a good night he came over as a nice guy and it has stuck in my head since,, we have diffo opinions,,, i would like to meet him again to confirm ure opinions, thank you for the comments, i will try to look him up and get back to you.....
