UK TV Ads from 1988
One of the clips on this ADARCHIVE channel was recently removed by (according to Wikipedia); "an American media conglomerate with various worldwide interests in cable and satellite television networks, and movie production and distribution."
I am just an individual uploading these ads for the nostalic enjoyment of others. The social and cultural history contained within is priceless. I ask any lawyers working for such companies to bear this in mind before going to the effort of having these clips removed. If the free availability of adverts nearly two decades in age are such an undeniable threat to the livelihood of the companies you're acting for, at least have the good sportsmanship to let ME know what excerpt is causing offence. These clips may otherwise be lost forever and I appeal to your humanity to realise these clips might actually bring the companies you're acting for extra business, with people buying products they might have forgotten about.
I'd also like to think those of you working in the legal profession are of an age where these ads have some nostalgic value to you too and I'm appealing to your good humour in this plea. Thanks, Paul Davis (ADARCHIVE)

  • Hiya 'adarchive' ta mate.Hey do you remember the late 70's ad for Blue Stratos aftershave?.I can't remember exactly what is looked like but the music was slow heavy rock with all this sustaining power chord stuff. When I was a teen I though it was SO rocking!.Don;t know how I'd react today, could e interesting.

    Cheers

    P :)

  • I think you're getting mixed up with the old Denim aftershave ad, Plonkey. It featured a woman's hand sliding slowly up a man's shirt!

The tagline: "Denim - For men that don't have to try - too hard"

  • Yeah mate I'm pretty sure that's it!.Do you have access to it or know anywhere I can attempt to find it?.It would be such a treat for my brother and I,

thanks ever so much for your kind help,

    all the best,

    Plonkey

  • They have an old Christmas version of the ad at the VISIT4INFO website, although I sure it must be available somewhere in it's original form. Good luck!

  • It's lovely seeing ads from"back'ome'.I haven't been back to the U.K in years. This makes me homesick to be with my own kind.

    Thanks for posting!

  • Glad you're enjoying them. I'll be posting more whenever I can in 2007!
