This is my old stitch and glue double paddle canoe with a Hobie mirage drive installed. I took this video to see how my rudder set-up looked in the water. I'm using the Turbo fins with the leach about 3/4 tight. This boat is heavy (97 lbs.) and a bit short for this, but it moves pretty well. The second pass is faster than the first, but farther out so it doesn't look it. (more wake if you look closely) I previously timed it at 5 mph with moderate effort using the standard fins and no rudder, so it will be interesting to see how it will perform now. My local lake is one nautical mile from end to end, so that will make easy timing for knots. I think it will be do-able in under ten minutes. Loosening up the fins makes for easy cruising.
