Regarding knight solaire being gwyns son and the god of war, could it possibly be that when he was a "god" he had very special powers and gear, but after he was stripped of his powers he tried to recapture his powers by mimicing his gear, unsuccesfully. This feels very sloppy, message me if you want me to clarify.

On the other hand, I am impressed that you were able to glean this much info from this SUPER thin plot line. I think it is wishful thinking that there was THIS much meaning behind DS. Mythological references? Yes. But the vast majority of this story is just loosely thrown together. Priority was placed on making a staggeringly beautiful game with second-to-none gameplay. You gave us all hope that this story really did have substance and spent the time we couldn't researching it. Thank you.

@Quelaag - first of all, awesome work, digging into this story and producing these videos. I share that same awe, wonder, terror, etc. that this magnificent game produces. Its such a bleak and dreary world, and the evil is so real and powerful, it creates a real tension that no other game I've ever played has created (aside from Demon's Souls). @kylebstiff ... or buying time to send his father a human sacrifice so his father wouldn't have to sacrifice himself at the kiln of the first flame?

Awesome, awesome series of videos. I still have one question, though. So the people in the red robes sealed Kaathe and the four kings in the abyss by flooding the New Londo ruins, which also took care of the Dark Wraith problem but also killed a ton of innocent people. Now, who exactly sealed Seathe, Nito, Izalith, and even Gwyn in their respective areas? Were the red robes working with Gwyndolin in this matter? If so, was Gwyndolin (sort of) disobeying his father? Or buying time to send his

These people who created Demon Souls and Dark Souls need to make another one. These games are the best I have ever played with online co-op and many more cool stuff.

@Quelaag: Well, I have no more information about Nito than you do. He might have been a mass of human corpses that got powered up by the soul or something. But that's just speculation, since there's too little information, but it is an explanation that renders Nito human. Also, we know Gwyn divided his power among his children from his sword and we didn't need their souls. Maybe we didn't need ALL of the power to fill the Lordvessel. Lots of maybes and we're never getting closure :(

@JoeyXirmi Unfortunately that seems to be the case. Unless Miyazaki's "pendant" really DOES do something and tells a story about nito or some random stuff.
