This is a "input shaft bearing" from a 7th generation Honda civic. It is a known problem to sometimes cause a "whirring" or grinding sound within your engine. It usually happens around 100k on the car or could possibly go anytime if driven hard. for more info please visit this current site(s)

i really need your insight.....im planning to do a input shaft bearing job on my em2 civic....but i need to know, is taking apart the 7th gen tranny similar or exactly the same as taking apart a 96 civic tranny?...i know how to do it on a 96 tranny, but im just wondering if it's different for the 7th gens or is it the same...
