Come on. You know how it smells...funky and musty...full of cigarette smoke and stale beer. Nobody payin' attention to the music....it's just background noise...the old Vets...the new kids tryin' to make a scene...and the old hanger-on-ers...the regulars. Puts the romance back into being a musician.....don't it?

I mean, can you imagine.....sitting in some little dive....there is a band on stage taking requests (put a five in the bowl and we'll try). Just across the room there is a lady wearing too much make-up and smokn' one of those long filtered cigs....probably had more gin and tonic than she should have. Then...from out of nowhere....After Hours with Danny Gatton comes ripping through the house speakers.....is anyone with me? Can you feel this? My most favorite guitar god of all time.....

This is definitely a scotch-and-water cocktail kinda tune....God, how I'd love to have a band like this to play with.

That piano is excellent!  It's so good to hear Danny playing with talented musicians where he doesn't have to carry the whole thing by himself but feels secure enough to relax and weave his incomparable magic.
