Day two was a blur of frustration as I tried to use a saw who's teeth had been bent and generally made a mess of things trying to cut fret slots. On day three I got a new saw, a bottle of super glue, and a set of needle files.

  • Sounds sitar-like! Awesome job, Yoppy

  • Yep, You can do some fretless slides on the middle string that enhances the sitar-iness even more.

  • it sounds like a modified mandolin.

  • Yep, the double melody string gives it that mando-ring. Kinda makes me think that a full mando configuration would be pretty cool.

  • You've been busy in the woodsheds, I see. A cool project, and a cool lesson in acoustics, given that back brace and how it didn't deaden the sound. Excellent.

  • That sounds awesome, and I really really love the face! Awesome job with it! It's got a great tone.

  • Wow- that turned out really well :)

  • No doubt about it... that looks like one happy strumstick.

  • Man! I love those guys.

  • Thanks, Russ

  • Wow. you are right. I can't believe it never once came into frame. Nothing special, mind you. Its a scale model of the Taj Mahal complete with little tiny anamatronic elephants that turn the tuners to keep it constantly in perfect tune. (Headless, with zither pins tucked on the backside of the neck.)
