General view of the festivities which began in front of the Yerevan municipality building.

The events started less than 12 hours after the signing of the Turkey-Armenia accords which places into question the veracity of the Armenian Genocide and calls on Armenia to recognize Turkey's existing borders (thereby relinquishing its demands to any Armenian lands lost as a result of the Armenian Genocide).
