The Vandenberg arrived in Key West on April 22nd 2009. Keys Websites provided exclusive live coverage and web broadcast. Scheduled for scuttling in May as a dive and snorkeling attraction, the Vandenberg is already generating international buzz.
The do send junk cars to the bottom. There are charter boat captains that sink cars to make their own fishing holes. I don't know it it's legal or not but they make great fishing spots and only the guy that made it will know it's there.
One's man's rusted ocean litter is another man's "artifical reef " I guess. Makes me wonder why they don't send junk cars to the bottom.
It's funny how all the dive shops in town have been creaming in their wetsuits with dollar signs in their eyes for people to sign on to a Vandenberg dive, long before it even got to Key West.
there is another small ship near where the vandenburg was docked its really small

This is a fantastic project & hats off to those who made it happen -- a lot of us can't wait until the final phase when she sinks next month!
