OK. So the way I made these rankings is quite complex. I created a system that calculates the greatness of musical groups. This system uses the number of #1 hits, top ten hits, grammy awards, and album sales to calculate a group's greatness. It also uses lists of great songs and albums made by famous publications such as Rolling Stone magazine, and VH1. I can just plug in some numbers and the calculating system spits out a number that represents that groups greatness. For example, the #1 group of all-time, The Beatles, were very uncontested. They got 2047 points, where the #2 group, The Rolling Stones, got 1124 pts. The #100 group, The Pixies, recieved 110 pts. That is how far the point values range, but it was a close race for #100. 16 groups had between 100 and 109 points!
Groups that just missed the cut were:
Alice in Chains, Styx, Yes, Genesis, The Stone Temple Pilots, Oasis, Bob Seger and the Silver Bullet Band, ZZ Top, The Talking Heads, The Impressions, The Kingsmen, The Shirelles, REO Speedwagon, Blue Oyster Cult, Cheap Trick, and Matchbox 20.
I tried to make the system as unbiased as possible. Probably my three favorite rock bands, The Red Hot Chili Peppers, The Foo Fighters, and The Pixies, ranked at 35, 64, and 100, respectfully. My favorite bands actually did better than I expected them to do. I hope that doesn't mean I was to biased toward my favorites.
I understand that some groups in this list wouldn't be considered rock and roll groups, like The Jackson Five, Grandmaster Flash and the Furious Five, and Bob Wills and His Texas Playboys, but if they are inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame I saw this as a qualification for this list.
There might also be someone missing from this list. I did not include them because they are more individual artists than groups. This may include David Bowie, Ozzy Osbourne, Meat Loaf, Bob Dylan, Chuck Berry, Elvis Pressley, or Alice Cooper.
I know that there will be a lot of negative criticism thrown at me. There always is when such a large list including many inspirational people is compiled, but please keep the comments clean and respectful. It's not like this list, made by a complete ameteur, is the final judgement of your favorite musicians, and will determine the fate of their lives and legacies.
To find out who is in the top 5, you must watch part 7. I may not be done making the part you are looking for, so you need to wait until I upload it.
Finally, if you want to know how a band did that didn't make my list, send me a message or comment the video, and I will be happy to tell you how they did.

on this poor list of bands cos there are many greats bands but all of there are badly ranked
and i didnt see oasis, the smiths,Bob dylan, the libertines, travis, the killers, blur, muse, the stone roses, air, beck, bowie, b.b. king, flaming lips, hollies, incubus, manic street preachers, continues ...

Oasis and the Flaming Lips were close to making it.
Bob Dylan, Beck, Bowie, and BB King are all solo artists, not groups.
The Smiths, The Libertines, The Killers, Blur, Muse, The Stone Roses, and Incubus have only been together or were only together for a few years.
Air, Manic Street Preachers, and Travis I've never heard of.
So if that's all you got I think I did a good job.
