  • I wish all Washington insiders would consider that question: Some day your kids will ask you what you did in Washington; can you be honest with them while looking them in the eye?

  • @th3gr8juan

"...and now that we're using his heritage against him..." He's not renouncing his conservative beliefs he just doesn't want to be a part of defeating the first Hispanic presidential candidate with dirty tricks. And no one of solid morals should be comfortable w/ that.

  • @Nonsensei436 That would be the sign of a bad public servant, not a good one. The good ones can't look you in the eye and lie to you without it eating them up inside.

  • @YouFyrst It is a politicians job to make people think they are. Their kids are no exception.

  • This sickens me really especially as a Hispanic. Beliefs that I have, right or wrong, have lead me to be a member of the Republican Party. Those are beliefs that I control, that I have formed, that have evolved over the years. Now, something that I have no control over, my race, is supposed to supersede all those beliefs? Sickens me.

  • @lanebatts26 Not what I said! I said Obama drew more black votes than any other race. It was true and it still is. The logical extension, which appears to have eluded you, is "McCain draws more white votes than any other race." You can't get my position right, so please don't try.

  • @lanebatts26 Not "flase", not even false. There were no white women running. Your statement only works if you're claiming McCain looked more like a white woman than Obama does. It's ridiculous, but not as ridiculous as your not being being able to spell a five-letter word or your taking four months to answer me. Seriously, what life do you have answering a post so old that I had to look up what I wrote to answer you?

  • i really could not stand this start. OK...so Im latino...so i cant work for you white guy, im going to vote for the Latino guy...and so is my family...and then we will name our kids after him too....seriously?? this is the stupid thinking that worked its way into 2008

  • @RCAucl McCain won the votes of white women, 53 to 46 percent McCain won only 57 percent of the votes of white men Fully 96 percent of black voters supported Obama

    ----your statement seems flase

  • I'm an asshole. Just because I'm an asshole doesn't mean I automatically voted for Mitt Romney.

  • Please. Rationalize it all you wish. Numbers don't lie. The people who vote for a candidate most are the one in his/her own race, whichever one it is. Obama draws more black votes than any other race, and Giuliani draws more white votes than any other race. It's social psychology 101 (not a figure of speech, actually took the class): people like the people who look like them. It's not about morality, it's about reality.

  • @MikeJames6 It wasn't just that they were both latino. It's that Vinick brought up the immigration issue because Santos was Mexican. I think it's understandable if that rubbed him the wrong way.

  • ...will be reluctant to run, like the gap in credible cand

  • I think its bit deeper than that - he thinks if Santos gets crushed, more latino candidates

  • This is the problem with politics. This guy simply is voting for Santos cause he is Hispanic. Kinda like what Colin Powell did with Obama.
