Earth Hour ~~ March 28 2009

Turn your lights out with millions of others across the globe on March 28th, 2009. Earth hour is intended to be a time to reflect on how our race is treating earth for the future of mankind. We must train ourselves to reduce our consumption of wasted goods and services. We have the power to make a difference as individuals.

A few small ideas to reduce our carbon footprint:

Plant a tree.
Share your garden.
Walk, ride a bike, carpool.

Fill small leaks entering the home. (insulate/seal)

Replace your faucets with slower water pressure (if do-able) Showers use less water & hot water supply. Wash clothing in cold water instead of hot. Hang sweaters when they are almost dry.

Turn your lights off each time you leave a room. Invest in LED (auto sensor on/off) night lights for each room in the house. Use a mixture of home lighting. (fluorescent is cheaper than incandescent) If you're going to "Leave the porch light on", make it a fluorescent bulb. It should be the law! lol

Open your blinds to let in the sun. (Also great for mild disinfecting) Close your blinds at night. The blinds act as a barrier to the cold. Reduce your heat when you sleep at night. Run your AC fan on the AUTO position. Auto is cheaper than ON. Allow fresh air into the house during warmer periods of the day.

Accent a wall that receive a lot of sunlight with dark wallpaper/paint

Allow heat to escape from your stove after cooking.

Mirrors will bounce sunlight across your house.

Use the sleep timer on your television! lol

Wasteless meals & snacks. Stay away from large empty packages. lol

Make yourself that tea or coffee at home more often.

Us grownups have a duty to take care of the planet. To sit down with our children and make a point of what their future will be like if we don't start acknowledging now. I had lots of fun creating the video with my young ones. How about you? Do you run around looking for attention as a young unguided child might do? Or, do you give your attention to important issues?

On the other hand, If our magnetic shielding and stratosphere are weak, whether it is caused by mankind or the solar system, this would only accelerate the rate of biological impact risks.

My thoughts about global warming and global cooling point mostly towards our solar system and the orbitals within. I believe the solar wind, a shrinking heliosphere and earth bombardment of active galactic nuclei are ultimately responsible for the weather trends. Whether or not our sun is experiencing higher highs or lower lows during solar minimum or solar max is the major cause for earth climate.
