http://www.techyzone.com/reviews/ballistic-tornado-watch-review/ You can hit the watch face of Ballistic watches with a hammer, scratch them with a Stanley knife, shoot them with an air rifle, (bulletproof up to 2400 Vickers) or even run over them with a truck - they won't scratch!!!
Ballistic are the only watch manufacturer in the UK that make watches which can withstand massive blows to the watch face.
@VaconCamp Well since your only looking for a watch that will last you a year or two, not under heavy abuse either, then perhaps you should look at a timex. You stupid shit, the point of the watch is the fact that it will hold up for years and years and years of normal daily use and occasional abuse. Common sense eludes many fuck stains like you, doesn't it?

@MRYEHBUDDY74 Perhaps because you want a quality watch that you can rely on? Something that has solid engineering, high-end materials and usability instead of OOH SHINY design and a price tag that's gonna be the butt of nasty jokes?

@bob2pie Mineral will shatter, but not as easily as a sapphire. Mineral is good overall for use in sport watches, but in all honesty... if your looking for shatter resistance, an acrylic "crystal" would be the best choice...you'll find something like that on a Casio Gshock watch. Problem is, watches like that dont appear classy and do not command respect. I have smacked Mineral crystals pretty hard against metal framing/pipes and never them get scratched, let alone cracked.

@RamoneTalarico how about a mineral cover whats that good for

@Escos88 No chance of a sapphire crystal, sapphire is much harder than bullistic glass which is why it would shatter instantly. Sapphire is only good for dress watches as its highly scratch resistant being 9 on the mohs scale second only to a diamond at 10 it is the second hardest substance on the earth. If your going for shatter resistance, you want something more soft and flexible. Sapphire is NOT practical for a sport watch.
