  • Where there's muck, there's brass !:)

There's a guy down the road from me that does this, can be quite lucrative.

  • We have people like that in the UK called 'Rag and Bone Men'. They're most often gypsies (travellers) making their living selling the scrap from old furniture and appliances. I've never seen a woman doing the job over here, though, hence why we call them 'men'. They can frequently be heard yelling 'RAGBONE!' ad nausium down every street.

Interesting cultural difference, I suppose, as it appears to be more of a formalised business venture in Japan, whereas in the UK, it's people's livelihoods.

  • We get people like that here in the UK, They only take things made of metal and some electicals. They take them to a scrap merchant who pays them by weight and type of metal. Around £350 per tonne for steel and £2000 for copper !

  • Love that tiny lil truck lol

  • In Finland you would have the police on your tail for making noise 0.0

If you have heavy stuff you call the recycling yard to collect it, if its light you bring it to the recycling yard, but that concept is pretty new, people where not able to buy enough stuff to have something to throw away, old stuff was recycled by do it yourself into new stuff!

  • Youre not kidding, it's an issue. My boyfriend broke his case in Japan, so he he bought a new one and asked the receptionist where he could dispose of the old one. She looked at him like he had dropped from Mars. So, we phoned the embassy who called the hotel receptionist to tell them to charge us a tenner, to get rid of it for us. The receptionist couldn't have told us that!?

  • can´t see anything special about that .. its just a metal collector. you can sell crap metal fr a fortune these days ... apart from that lorry being pretty small ... maybe they don´t expect too many people to make use of it?

  • ...

  • Tell us more about your girlfriend!

  • Boy, you live in the country side!
