  • this was a terrible time in american history brother against brother this is one of those wars wee america looks back and says "why"?

  • Jesus! The production value of reenactment videos sure have increased since I was active. That damn 135th Antietam video was a travesty, every farb in the whole damn place was shocased. nothing like a 300 lb Yankee screaming "Holy cow look at all the freaking rebels" LOL still laugh at that. I would love a copy of the entire video from this one though. I wouldn't be embarrased to show this to people!

  • @MrBlaze54321 honestly, no. it was a terrible war yes but the souths reasons for breaking of were VERY valid reasons. i mean if we hadnt broken off from england we wouldnt be america today.

  • So, the Missouri Compromise, the 3/5 compromise and the fact that the South controlled the Executive and or Legislative branhes of government for years before the war has nothing to do with fueling the fires of conflict? Also, I never mentioned Lincoln's opinion of blacks one way or the other.

  • @zipsrule Yes, there would have been because after Lincoln was elected he passed the Morrill tarriff and forced many Southerners into bankruptcy and the South wnated to trade with Europe but the North wouldn't let them and increased the taxes. Lincoln just made it look like one reason they were fighting was to free slaves because he didn't want to look like a tyrant but he really thought blacks were inferior than whites.

  • @AUG351 So, by that logic, if slavery had not existed, there still would have been a war?

  • @zipsrule Don't rely on your history school book, most if not almost all men that fought for thr Confederacy fought for their homes, family, and many joined to fight on both sides because they were just kids wanting to go off to war and fight. Many Southerners never owned slaves only the rich, thats why they call it "Rich mans war Poor mans fight" the victor always rights the history.

  • I know that after 3 days more than seven thousand died in that battle . It was the largest battle ever waged

  • @MrBlaze54321 south wanted slaver, and north doesnt, duh

  • I was there with the 125th Ohio (portraying the 8th Ohio): It was relaxed and dry in camp, but every time we took the field, the rain would start!

  • @MrBlaze54321 Like what?

  • @zipsrule That was a big part of it but there were many other reasons behind it.
