is the record you're scratching on in the video just a break vinyl?
new to turntables but kinda been watchin some of your vids and now im thinkin of pickin up the stanton dj lab 2 package and seein how i like messin around with tables.
lol. using the crossfader is a lot easier you know? the channel faders have too long of a throw. no one uses regular channel faders (unless your a turntablist doing tricks) for scratching. other than that it's a decent lesson for beginners though.
Go Technics 1200's. There the best but once you get good, your gonna wish you had em. You can buy a knock off mixer like a behringer which has all the essentials and works fine. To keep up with mp3's I just bought serato and it is the sickest set up ever. Mixing mp3's on vinyl, cant beat it.

so yes, you need 2 turntables, a mixer, an amplifier/reciever and some speakers.
