U.C. Berkeley E128 Final project

Modeling done in Creo Parametric
Animation done in Autodesk 3ds MAX Design

This is still a work in progress, so some minor details are off (spark plugs fire in the wrong order, oil lines are incomplete etc) Any and all suggestions are greatly appreciated.

The short RX7 Savanna clip does not belong to me but I do not know who to credit.

Thanks for watching!

  • That's beautiful! I love it!

The only suggestion I have for you is to correct some of the assembly order: The M tension bolt should go in at the same time as the rest, the gear for the CAS should not magically cling to the front cover, the front main bolt [eshaft bolt] should go in after the main pulley, the end [triangular] piece of the apex seal should go on after the springs[spring has to be under it ^_-]. Oh and perhaps show the center plate tilting to fit over the eshaft?

  • @derekcat

Thanks for the input! We didn't actually re-assemble the engine so our animation has a lot of problems. You've given us something to work on in the meantime.

  • modeling looks great! maybe a white background or "dirty up" the skins. I am an animator, so all the grey is disappointing in such an elaborate animation. All that work just needs a bit of time on the selection of shaders. I like.

  • @VRZenki

I see I see.... Dumb question, but how do I dirty up the skins? I'm an engineering student so I'm not too familiar with shaders

  • Incredible, now do one for RB26....lol Great work guys.

  • @ryukyudiver1

That would be amazing to do.... Pity that I'm a broke college student lolz.
