I was kindly invited by Ms. Carol Atkinson from North Beach Elementary School to join her class to celebrate the Japanese Children's Day (May 5). After teaching them how to fold kabuto (samurai helmet) origami and telling them about koinobori (carp streamer), I presented them an old Japanse folklore called Momotaro in the kamishibai ("drawing boards theater") style. This kamishibai gives a very abbreviated version of Momotaro -- no mention of his sidekicks --, and was apparently made by Japanese kids. Ms. Atkinson had salvaged them when they were about to be thrown away.
thanks for sharing!
