  • I also do not understand how he placed that second 5. Possibly he had already seen the solution before he made this video.

  • There comes a point where knowing all the hints and strategies is useless if someone has less intelligence than someone else.

  • @staru doing it in your head is really only possible for the most simple puzzles. you get to a point in difficulty where there are 4 or 5 or 6 potentials in each box, and to be able to do things like spot hidden triples or (gasp) a hidden quad would be... i wanna say impossible for the human mind. if you can do an entire puzzle entirely in your head you either 1) need a more challenging puzzle, or 2) are Stephen hawking lol

  • 2 things - 1, your lesson would be SO much better if you used an overhead projector and transparency, or a document camera where you could still use paper. its nearly impossible to follow you the way you're doing it

2 - how in the hell did you place the second 5? the first is obvious, the second, there are 2 other options for it... i dont understand how you made that jump in logic.

  • I agree with 'Interdicted'. No way he can just put in the second 5.

    Plus NO EXPLANATION!

I've looked at loads of these vids now and they offer no help.............or they are just too simple.

PLUS. Anyone who does Sudoku's by writing 'possible' numbers in boxes b4 the actual number is in my opinion cheating!

    Do it in your head!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • ohh ok, for a second i thought it was possible right away

  • This explanation video actually had about a minute of content "cut" before it was posted between the section on the "artistry" of the design and the first number being given. It was after a section where I went through identifying the other 5's that the 5 in r4c7 was found. You can't get this before other numbers.

  • The way he figured that one out was: He started looking at the lines as you can see from the other numbers, then a 1,2,3,4,6 and 7 could NOT have been used.. So there is 5,8 and 9 left! He could see from the diagonal line that the numbers 6 and 8 was copied all the way down and then there is a very very big chance that there is not going to be a 8 (cause it was used in the diagonal line so much) and then im not quite sure how he figured out it had to be 5 and not 9.. but i got some theories ^^

  • no, i mean, he placed the first 5 in the middle box, but then the second 5 on the right of the middle box (which has only one number, thats the 1) theres no way he could figure that out

  • ehm.. the box he placed it in only needed one number..
