Filipino Politics - Hopelessly Corrupt


My lack of money nor power, not much I can do to express my anger. Please read on.

THE TRUTH:

It was not a smooth takeover but rather a bullying Gov. Maliksi forcing his power to eject the incumbent Mayor Joy Peñano who was the declared winner by the court and the Comelec. Gov. Maliksi was so humiliated by his failed attempt last Dec. 2009 that he decided to repeat the same but this time with more than 200 police forces under his command (not 100 as claimed). The situation was not peaceful, orderly and without tension. Some supporters of Mayor Peñano were hurt because they were manhandled by the police when they were only trying to protect their leader from being dragged out of the building. Mayor Joy Peñano voluntarily stepped down after seeing his people getting hurt. This is what Gov. Maliksi said Walang pakialam ang Comelec dito, bitbitin na yan palabas (Comelec has nothing to do here, drag him (Mayor Joy) out) They did not have the necessary papers but a court issued status quo order and not the writ of execution document as required by law. They twisted the meaning of status quo which simply means that existing state of affairs. Preservation of the status quo also means exactly what it says, that is, whatever was the state of affairs at the time of the court order must be maintained. The status is the date when Mayor Joy came into existence as the duly elected mayor of Alfonso. Clearly, Ver Vairas and his cohorts interpreted the ruling most favorable to their side. What the bullies did was to forcefully install Ver Varias and then the status quo takes effect. Their timing was even wrong since the Election Ban already started. President Arroyo cannot even appoint a new Supreme Court justice by this time because of the ban. With the help of several henchmen, Gov. Maliksi illegally and recklessly instituted a near bloody coup that was only prevented because Mayor Joy reluctantly assented. The effect of the forceful removal was altering the status quo, not preserving it. No wonder with Gov. Maliksis usual questionable actions, he got suspended forcorruption and then aligned with GMA to save himself. The truth is that Ver Varias wants the position so bad is because of the P70 million loan from Landbank he and his cohorts were pushing so hard for them to loot. The commission alone for them in this scheme is a fortune. With a huge loan like this, Alfonso for sure will go bankrupt because it will not even afford to pay just the interest alone. The town of Alfonso was financially ruined when Varias got unseated last September 2009. The municipal building was under construction and unfinished because the budget ran out; however his house which was also under construction at the same time was completed. He has no other means of income other than the meager mayors salary for him to afford such a lavish home. No wonder every time he takes office, he leaves the town with zero balance. Clearly, the motivation here is greed. Ver Varias is using the mayors office as a means to an end. When Mayor Joy took over last September, the municipality was completely broke. Within 2 months after he took over, he brought in P17 million and made significant progress to bring financial stability. During this period, Ver Varias continued to sabotage this progress by writing letters claiming he is still the mayor and even signing a council resolution resulting in the forfeiture of municipal employee bonuses last December. He wrote a letter to the Landbank ordering them not to release any funds for the municipality because Joy Peñano is not the mayor. The bank did not honor his request. Mayor Joy must be reinstalled immediately and reassume the office he was legally elected for. The town of Alfonso has been damaged enough. Let us not allow powerful politicians and their cohorts to conduct their business using disturbing and dirty tactics. Alfonso is in total chaos at present. Let us pray that the good triumphs over evil and save our beloved town from corrupt leaders.

kaming mga tao sa alfonso, walang kapangyarihan. Simple lamang din ang aming pamumuhay. Naisip nga namin, kung nagagawa nila yan sa isang tao na tulad ni Mayor Joy, paano pa kaya kami na wala namang pangalan, pera at kapangyarihan? Marahil tutulungan lamang nila kami kapag meroon silang interest na makukuha, pero kapag wala, kapag hindi ka naniniwala sa pinagsasabi nila, wala kang tulong na makukuha.

What had happen is a total abuse of power! What I saw on tv, is different since it was said that Mayor Joy voluntarily stepped out but the truth was that it forcefully done through his power (with police & military escorts).

some people are saying that the turnover in alfonso is a peaceful one......well we cannot hide the truth....ito ang katotohanan....dapat sana ay malaman at mabatid ito ng mga tao sa bayan ng Alfonso na nagbubulagbulagan at pinapapaniwala ng mga huwad na lider. the bottom line of al of this is MONEY....... ... aba human rights violation ata ang mga ginawang pambibitbit sa mga taga suporta ni mayor joy......

Ang mga tao talaga iba-iba ang kasiyahan sa buhay.... merong masaya pag may minamahal, masaya pag kapiling ang pamilya,  masaya pag nagbibigay sa mga less fortunate, masaya pag nakapunta ng SM, masaya pag kumain sa JOLLIBEE....... meron naman masaya kapag nanlalamang sa kapwa, nagnanakaw, pumapatay ng tao, nang-haharass, NAKAKALIMUTAN NILA NA TAO RIN SILA.... hayaan nyo lang sila, huminga kayo ng malalim at magpasalamat sa DiYOS na poong maykapal.... may GOD BLESS YOU MAYOR JOY!
