It is not very often (in fact pretty much never) that I would agree with anything that Anna Bligh has to say. However, this is one project which I believe had a lot of merit. Unfortunately, once again the greenies and the heritage people have destroyed what otherwise could have been a great opportunity to rejuvenate quite a dilapidated part of 'Australia's new world city.'
I really get annoyed with these greenies who want to take us back to the stone age where we all live in caves.

@neopsycore Its not only conservatices.. the greens in my area (West End) are really pissed off at development.

It would have created more congestion around the area as well, in my opinion. Just seems like an unnecessary monstrosity.

Had to. Public voted a 93% in favor of not proceeding with the design.

mays well take this video off now stupid premier refused the developement
All of you who criticize those against this proposal are missing our point. The idea to revitalise the area is not a bad one. What's required is visionary development with a focus on creating a space for Brisbane's people (like Southbank) - this doesn't include letting multinational corporations destroy our river. Anna and Campbell got sucked in by the developers, but thankfully most Brisbanites didn't.

Well I'd have to agree with that 93%, would have been a bloody stupid thing to put there.. or anywhere on the river for that matter.

Why stupid? Would have revitalized the area and created a new iconic area for Brisbane.
