Say you draw some line art, but wanna change the color without using the bucket tool to do a horrible job.... How would you do that?

Do you know how to select the contents of a layer?

eg you have like a smiley drawn on layer 1 and want to select the smiley by clicking on the color. like the "select by color " tool in gimp

Thanks a lot for uploading this, im new to Art and Digital art and it was hard enough getting my head round PS CS4! I See most artists using SAI and instantly i can see  the paint side and the magic wand tool put Adobe to shame... Im finding sai hard work right now, without material like this i would be lost! Thanks :D
