FILM FESTIVAL SCREENINGS 2009 of 120min documentary by Romuald Karmakar on Ricardo Villalobos that had it's world Premiere September 8, 2009 at the 66th International Venice Film Festival.

SYNOPSIS: "How does Ricardo Villalobos, one of the most acclaimed DJs of electronic music, think? How does he hear? How do Herbert von Karajan and Mussorgskys horns end up in the studio of this Chilean musician from Darmstadt, Germany? What happens inside his machines and modules long after they are switched off? How do people react to his art of DJ-ing at Berlins famous club Berghain, the temple of techno? What do people expect for their money when they go to the international stages of Ibiza? Do we actually have more sex than our parents? And how do we handle the power of our luck?

I was reading he is obessed with speakers and sound, like perfection is paramount..

If you were able to afford speakers like these from Martion, you wouldn't need to take your sound to a mastering studio, as you'd already have better speakers than they have. Must be nice.

it seems to be a great work, really.

villalobos isn't just one of many djsuperstars out there, but a great producer and innovator: a complete artist in my opinion.

a simple question: will it be ever released?

i just can't wait to watch it!!
