In humanitarian news, the Women Empowerment Project enhances lives in Nigeria. Initiated and funded by the international non-profit Adventist Development and Relief Agency (ADRA), the program provides women in the locality of Ile-Ife, in southwestern Nigeria, the opportunity to gain literacy and business skills. The ADRA is working in collaboration with a number of other organizations to provide training, small loans, and support to new and existing businesses. In addition, information on areas such as family planning, nutrition, hygiene, infant care, and maintenance of good health is being made available. A goal of the endeavor is a 25% increase in the participants' household incomes by the time of the project's completion in June 2010. Our earnest appreciation, Adventist Development and Relief Agency and participating organizations, for your dedication to the vibrant women of Nigeria. May many enjoy wonderful advantages through your laudable efforts.
