@MageKirby confusing comment. since when does taiji have dance moves? i practice taiji, not dancing. i believe you wanted to say that kung fu is a hard chinese martial arts and taiji is a soft chinese art, taekwondo is a hard korean art and taekkyon a soft korean art. did i get that right? cause this in fact does make sence when you compare a taekkyon practicioner and a taekwondo dude.

@stacyface07 people need to get over the term "chi", because it is more confusing than explaining. chi is nothing but the result of a certain intention joined with the understanding that one can direct more oxigen to certain areas of the body to condition them. this is achieved through specific breathing and looseness, so the bloodflow is still intact. the mind is a complex feature humans have, there is more detail to it that many people do not know about it.

That was tight at the end. one on one. mano a mano. They both do their kicks at the same time and then Freeze! That's tight that's nice.

I think Sid was referring to the fact that Taekkyun has a lot of dance moves, like Tai Chi or Capoeira. In that case, you can say Taekkyun is to Tai Chi as Korea is to China.

Yeah, but all the asian martial arts have some kind of taichi excersises. Karate, Kung fu, and taekkyun too. It's just not called TaiChi.
-
@Siddthartha there's no such Korean taichi. This is called Taekkyon, a Korean traditional MA.
