The Maunder Minimum refers to an abrupt drop in solar luminosity of less than 1% during the mid-17th Century, which had profound impacts on global climate. We may be due for another solar "grand minimum" later this century. Dr. Lubin will discuss the implications of such a grand minimum during the era of anthropogenic global warming, and will also discuss astrophysical research efforts to determine how frequently a Maunder Minimum event occurs in nature.
Greenhouse gas theory is not proven
LOL

@Trent1492 Just like the guy in the video. Evidence is nothing without proof and the greenhouse theory has not been proven. The conclusion is to reject the theory as a fairytale. The above video is nothing more than propaganda and scaremongering.

@david222444
You are making assertions with out any evidence.

@david222444
You just made the logical fallacy of argument from incredulity. Try again.

A trace gas! only 0.038% of the atmosphere will offset the onset of a Maunder minimum? LOL
david222444 4 months ago
A trace atmospheric gas (co2) cannot offset the combined effects of an inactive Sun, negative PDO and increasing volcanic activity. Please try to use your intellect and have a sense of perspective. At present every level of the atmosphere is cooling and an exremely harsh winter has been forecast for the Northern Hemisphere. The climate models are wrong.

The zooming effects when showing a slide is really annoying, get rid of this and show the whole slide.

The raw data I have seen indicates no significant or recent global warming has occurred. The little that has is not very meaningful. Oh, you say, I am not looking at "your" temperature data. What about the glaciers melting, etc, etc.? Which country has the most mountain glacial ice? Is it all melting in unison? No! So it can't contribute much to seal level rise. The earth has sped up its rotation.

sbergman27, I am not a climatologist. I will never pretend to be. Yes, I am well aware that those who hawk global cooling may be in for a surprise. I do believe we are in a very pronounced but natural global warming pulse. I checked the earth's rotational data. It was 304 msec above the day count and spinning slowly in 1950. In 2010, it was only 4 msec above the day count. This means the earth has sped up. Is this an indication of global warming or have the oceans shrunk?

sbergman27, I think you have totally misinterpreted my content. We are in a climatic warming pulse but it has nothing to do with CO2. Venus is very hot, it has nothing to to do with CO2. Mars is not hot or warming, it is full of CO2. I am just quoting what I read about CRU's former director about the last 15 years temps being unchanged. Their released data downgrades the effect of GHGs and CO2, especially. i.e. more heat escapes into space even before the temps increase. Hmm?
