  • decent lesson, however you need to understand what triplets are, triplets refer to 'sonic' applications, just because you use three finger playing patterns on the strumming hand does not make them triplets, so in other words you need to study some musical theory to properly understand the concept of triplets, i'm not knocking your playing or anything, but you need to research something like 'triplets' before you start using the term when teaching a lesson

  • @thepossessor Yeah, through time Ive realized that when people say "triplets" on guitar or bass they actually mean a gallop. And Ive taken a music theory class at my school and learned that I was wrong in using the term triplet for this. Ive learned a lot more from being in that music theory class and with that knowledge I would like to redo this lesson and do some more lesson videos. Hopefully better quality. Thanks for the comment.

  • thanks man, im training my third finger its so annoying when the other two are way stronger lolololol also, its hard getting used to the string tension change between strings : /

  • haha I remember that, what I did was I wore my class ring on my plucking hands ring finger. And for a while I would just practice with my ring on, then my ring finger got stronger from that. IDR if that was in the lesson, I made this so long ago

  • @teskius89

He only uses 2. It takes a while to get finger speed, but if you keep it light on the strings, it can be done. He doesn't ride the strings hard, he's got a low action and flatwound strings.

  • @thepossessor The Trooper - Everyone misses the left hand (fret hand) mutes in between the gallops. The mutes give the gallops their distinction. I have never, not even once seen a bass playrer get this totally correct. Except for Steve of course. And me! lol

  • @dnnydllr And after the 121's there is a left hand mute. Very fast, usually no one ever gets it.

  • eighth note triplets =1+a2+a3+a4+a

  • Have you EVER listened to a single Iron Maiden song? Notice how his gallops, as far as sound goes, go 121 121 121 121. He only uses two fingers, and yes, I have seen the music video, in which he uses two fingers. How would it even make sense to use four fingers for a triplet?

  • Theres a video on youtube and he says that he only uses 2 fingers

  • 2?? have you ever seen the trooper made by steve harris?!?!? then tell me how many fingers does he uses..
