  • it's for the size of your violin... full size is 4/4

  • I can't be sure - everyone is different..

but it is possible what you say is tru and will work for you...

that's my belief.... BUT I do not know if you have a long neck etc.

Send me a picture of you and of you playing ?

Hope you find a comfortable solution!

    Roland

  • can i get your opinion about Resonans violin rests?

  • I forgot that one... It's Swedish.. and I dare say has its followers. I haven't tried one, but I may have had a student with one in the past.

  • the pieces at the start is Bach b minor partita excerpt from Bouree

  • From listening it sounds like your holding the tone out a little longer with the shoulder rest. Maybe it's because you're more warmed up? One size does not fit all. Everybody is different. Good teachers are aware of this. BTW they all sounded really good.

  • Here's a good suggestion. Don't use one.

  • @pandoraefretum about the VLM ur violin sounds better not because u feel comfortable imho, it's because VLM produces a better sound on ur violin. have u tried artino sound? it's similar like VLM, made of either rosewood and maple with 2 resonance holes. I've heard it produces better sound on ur violin, too (i've bought it but haven't received it at home, still waiting)

  • @lafilleindigo whats the size of your violin? adult size is 4/4

  • Thank you sir. Subscribed.

  • This might be a stupid question, but when shopping around for shoulder rests I'm confused about the measurements that are given. They can be sold as 4/4, 3/4, 1/2, 1/4 etc. What do these numbers mean and how can I tell which one is accurate for my violin?

  • that's too bad, I used to live in bristol. I would've gotten some lessons form you if I was still there :)

  • Hello Roland! Could you please tell a bit more about having the violin resting on the collarbone. Does it need that I should get the proper chinrest (in term of height) for keeping the contact at chin AND the collarbone before to adjust a shoulder rest?

    Thanks by advance
