Mountain Ocarina Comparisons

This is a supplement to my earlier Mountain Ocarina reviews, and an answer to a lot of private messages about the difference in sound between the polycarbonate and other models. Since these are the only four that I own, these are the ones I'm playing. I'm using the Nady RSM-4 ribbon microphone, Alesis Multimix 8 interface, and Flip Mino for video. The Flip Mino's native audio track is muted. There's no reverb added.

NOTE: Now that I listen to this on Youtube, I hear distortion not present in the uploaded video, rendering the whole experiment pretty much useless. Oh well. If you want to hear the mp3 audio track, which sounds a lot clearer, you can get it at: http://www.mediafire.com/?mgvrknnjluj

how can you play the g so perfect? :) Im finding it hard to get nice tones on the highest pitches :( Good video ad always ubizmo ;)

It's far from perfect, but I don't play a lot of different ocarinas, so that enables me to learn the nuances of this one. The key on the high notes is a firm and *steady* air flow.
