The bolero dance steps are very slow and romantic, beginning by holding for two beats, stepping to the side, rocking back and then forward, following a slow-quick-quick pattern. Dance the bolero steps with a demonstration from a professional ballroom dance instructor in this free video on dance.

  • I am not sure what some of the comments are about... Bolero is not the same count as Cha Cha, Bolero breaks on 3-4(7-8), Cha cha is on 2-3 Break. Rumba in American Style on 3-4 same as Bolero, but Rumba in International style breaks like cha cha, on 2-3. Please stop commenting about counts/timing if you are unsure, this video is intended for Beginners, do not get them on the wrong count from the start... Goodluck to all dancers!!!

  • I would say with the basic look of the rock, its like a really slow swing dance... to latin music... :P

  • @zarasbazaar . Hi, yes, we have improved the quaility, thanks to all comments. It is for you all!!

  • It's better to demonstrate facing the mirror, so that we can see the move from both sides.

  • in almost all dance forms the man starts with his left foot. The only exception i can think of is line dancing. This is even true of the basic step for break dancing!

  • labtennis, the one that's free. Lead side with left, behind wiht right, forward with left. Repeat on the other side.

  • Rock step in cha is on 2-3, in bolero the quick quick is on 3-4, so i dont know what your teacher was smoking but the count is most certainly not the same as cha-cha.

  • In bolero, which foot does the lead break forward on?
