@Omnismite Design oversight on the part of Bioware maybe?
The game's engine was designed - you can't change that kinda thing for one single mission. Despite it being out of line with the storyline.

@megafio True - but in the two years Shep was being rebuilt they "redesigned" the thermal clip thing.
Or something like that. mass Effect 1 had a cooldown - mass effect 2 had thermal clips which had to be ejected to fire the weapon without permanantly damaging it.
