The Sky's Affections - Mov. I

Here's a work I've been toying with. I haven't had a lot of time to work on it lately, since I'm busy with various academics, but I wanted to finish the first movement at least, since it's high time I uploaded something on YT again! XD

Another piece for two pianos... again. Surprised?!

I hope you enjoy, everyone! It'd be awesome if you could leave a comment. :)

PS: The picture used in this doesn't really relate to the piece -- it's just an awe-inspiring piece of art to look at. I chose the picture because the vastness in the painting and the emotions evoked looking at it are what I felt I wanted to associate with the piece. :) The content of the painting itself, however, doesn't have anything to do with any meaning behind the piece or anything like that -- it is all feeling. ;D

  • A good example of expressing emotion is in the piece "peter and the wolf." While the style of music is different from yours, you can immediately tell the emotion. same goes for "sorcerer's apprentice." emotion is KEY for movies and games' cut scenes. If you didn't have that then music, like all the music in most games these days are video game stage music, expressing nothing but the mood of the location. Other then that, keep doing what your doing. Your style is great, now just fly over the sky.

Thank you very much for your effort in writing comments; not a lot of people bother with that, nowadays. :)

As far as emotion goes, I just write what I feel; these are pieces meant for the sake of music rather than a soundtrack to a film or game. :3 When I compose music, feelings go through my mind rather than places or stories. Thus, I enjoy writing as freely as I can!

I hope that clarified some of what you might have been wondering! :D

  • Very Masashi-like. I love it!!

  • I felt all tingly when I heard this lol. Seriously nice composition.

  • There's a part where the timing gets really weird; did you slow down and speed up the tempo, or did you just use weird/unexpected time values for the notes? AMAZING piece by the way, I love all your compositions, particularly the polytonal ones.

  • Wow beautiful piece! You pertinacious its been a while since I've been around. It turns out I've missed out on a lot of great music! Yours to no avail, is one of my favorites so far. Even though you only use two instruments, (dual piano) it's so fluent, fast, elegant, and beautiful that I'm able to listen to it over and over again without losing interest. You're an amazing composer man. Keep up the great work!

  • could you tell me names of artists who make music like yours.. very similar? please... its very interesing..

  • hey nice piece man :D very interesing... your piece Infinite Moons ahhh!! a loved!
