This is a demo for a lens flare effect I've been working on to use in iClone. iClone has flare effects, but not the J.J. Abrams Trek type effects. All it has are different kinds of cross flares. The sun is given its spectral cross effect with the HDR filter in iClone. The circles that emanate and track with the sun are actually physical planes with the circles textured onto them as .PNG files. The series of planes are designed to :"look" at the sun as it tracks along the starfield, and fade in and out with keyframing. So, the flare circles themselves are not an "in-camera" effect, but physical props. Anyhoo, I hope it looks somewhat convincing. I know the sun should not be moving through space, but this is just a demo to show how the physics of the prop work. :)
