A young woman whose passion was to ride horses was remembered Sunday in Ocala after she and her horse died in an accident.
Eleanor Brennan, 21, of Virginia, and her horse, Mr. Barnabus, 11, died Saturday after the horse stumbled at a jump at the 2007 Horse Trials in Ocala, WESH 2 News reported.
According to police, the horse struck the gate, tumbled over on his neck and onto Brennan. The horse died instantly, and Brennan died later at a nearby hospital.
"It's quite unusual to have the kind of tragedy that we experienced yesterday," Tom Warriner of the Florida horse Park said.
