  • @kolbpilot Agreed! Epic aircraft

  • Bygone era. Probably the prettiest of the 4 engine piston powered airplanes.

  • simply awesome.. wish i was there..

  • shes so sexy.and so beight like the sun

  • Unrelated, I could imagine that plane at a distance being confused for a UFO because of all the lights in a general circular pattern.

  • She's a sweet aircraft.

  • NICE !!!!!

  • Not quite... Top Fuel engines can produce up to an estimated 7-8500 horsepower. However, actually measuring output is impractical due to the fact that TF engines are designed with a full-noise life expectancy of about 30-60 seconds. For this reason the R-3350 engines in a Super Connie are markedly superior :D

I was at Avalon on the Friday this year, and thanks to low cloud, they couldn't fly the bird, but they did three aborted takeoff; just spectacular.

  • you got that right, each engine is 2,000 hp+ each, so actually each engine has more power than a top fuel dragster.
