  • I love how Environment Canada issued a snowfall warning at 10:30 pm, when the storm hit at 9 pm. Then, after 1 am, they issued a blizzard warning, after the snowing and blowing had all but ended.

  • I know, they were only forcasting a "trace" of flurries for the night. They totally dropped the ball that night.

  • God I can't wait for this to come back. I love blizzards. Fuck summer.

  • i watched it from downtown and it was horrendous....

that night someone started a house fire that burned down 3 houses and never reported the fire.....

  • Too bad YYC is so small time they don't have a Cat III approach, or they'd still be landing in this stuff.

  • wow, I was in Fairmont that night...lucky me

  • No kidding. I can't be the only one to notice how BAD forecasting has become over the years since the Calgary weather office was all but closed in favor of Winnipeg.

Nice vid, by the way. I didn't actually see the storm much, as I was cozy in my bed with my laptop watching the storm on radar and webcams. Only after midnight did I venture out to start clearing sidewalks while the snow was untrampled. If it was a thunderstorm, I definitely would have gone outside from the first thunder crack.
