ST. LOUIS, MO (KTVI-FOX2now.com) - FOX 2 has confirmed the shooter in Thursday morning shooting rampage at ABB Power is among the dead. St. Louis Police say three people are dead and five others injured. The shooting happened at 6:30 a.m. Several family members of employees say aTimothy Hendron, a 25 year employee of ABB walked into the plant and opened fire. They say the shooter is a disgruntled worker. Police say 40 to 50 people were inside at the time of the shooting. Police were able to get to some employees after they called from their cell phones and told police where they were. Several businesses near the scene were also evacuated.

In an earlier news conference, St. Louis police said they were searching the building room by room for the suspect. An APB was put out for a 2001 Nissan truck, pewter in color with Missouri tags "0KK 696". The suspect's name is Timothy Hendron, according to DMV records. Police shut down Interstate 70 between Jennings Station and Union in both directions near the shooting scene for several hours.

People inside the building were hiding in the building and texting family members saying they were okay. Police have a building surrounded in the 4300 block of Semple. It is believed to be at the ABB plant. According to the Associated Press, Swiss-based ABB Group makes power transmission and industrial automation equipment. The company manufactures transformers at the St. Louis site, according to its Web site.

Statement From ABB For immediate release: We have received reports of a shooting at our St. Louis facility this morning. Information has been difficult to confirm. This is obviously a very serious situation and we are working to gather more information as it becomes available. The welfare of our employees is of utmost importance to us."

Missouri Governor Jay Nixon has been told about the situation and says he's monitoring it.

He was also is also part of a lawsuit seeking to recover alleged financial losses and damages from the ABB pension plan. The civil trial began Tuesday in federal court in Kansas City. The suit alleges that the firm's pension plan offered employees improper and "imprudent" investment options and charged excessive fees thereby damaging the plan.

Timothy Hendron is one of several employees and former workers listed as plaintiffs in the suit. His name is spelled three different ways on court documents. It is also listed as Herndon and Herndron. Police say the suspect is Timothy Hendron of Webster Groves. Court documents identify "Herndron" as living in Webster Groves.

The lawsuit is being handled as a bench trial without a jury. Judge Nanette Laughrey is hearing the case which was originally filed in December of 2006. It was scheduled to resume this morning.

I worked there from 87'-93 in Plating, Winding,Set-up and Assembly and was trying to go back. I loved working the time I was there but had an unfortunate accident... I remeber them and my prayers go out to all the families that were affected by this!
Peace D.E.

  • Yhea he probebly killed many more with a pencil. The way I see it (this is my opinion) Every time a massacre happens gun's are always used or am I wrong? It's not the gun but the user, ok I understand. but how you screen people like everybody can own a gun in the US wright. What happens people die, inocent people. If you think it's a normal. maybee for you, but people from Europe don't understand that guns are so easy to get. Here this shit don't happen. Because there are no gun's.

  • Well you have me there on the part of that shit doesnt happen there, but do you have murders, home invasions, assults or rapes there? I bet the ones that were hurt would love to have had a gun don't you think? As far as the massacres only being with guns.. wrong there also remember Charles manson, how about the priest that slaid his whole family with a butcher knife? I can go on and on but lets just leave it like we both differ with one another and move on ok? Peace...

  • @MarioBonafe I never blocked no comments! I don't delete them either unless there is cursing or being very ignorant towards someone period... So you really need to appologise my friend, everyone has the right to talk and say as they wish as long as it is in a respectful manner! Peace...

  • Maybee gun laws should be changed. I probebly never understand American laws. One thing I know, alot of people die in vain. You only need one idiot and here we go again. Alot of times people say it's because of the person in question. Can't understand people still think this way.

  • No the gun laws don't need to be changed! I knew this man and he was being strong-armed by a company that made over 50 million dollars in profits last year... He was in a joint battle against ABB about his pension. You cant just go around and blame guns my friend cause he could have done it with a pencil...should we get rid of pencils also? lol

  • @bonafe1976 You're prefer to be killed by knife ? In Russia guns are not allowed (with few exceptions) but watch the crime statistics for Moscow. And ask yourself, where all this gun shot kills come from. Remember one thing - criminal will ALWAYS have a gun he or she needs. Law against a gun is a question of what U will put against an armed criminal.

  • @charityGSHS you just pined the tail on the donky, one creep with a gun can control 100 people. Can you imagine your world without guns. Than the person in question wouldend have one right. So it would have never happend. I make video's about victems. I never had any bad comment from Europe not one. Do you know what I got from the US they deserved it they ask for it!!! you watch my vid's bonafe1976 and give me an answer. There is somthing realy wrong whit you people from the US the hate its sick

  • Change the gun laws and you will find the only ones in this country with a gun will be the gangbanger criminals. Over my dead body! Every country that has outlawed guns has the most violence in the world. If other workers at this company had been armed, this creep would not have gotten as far as he did. One creep with a gun can control 100 people.

  • What are you talking about? Didn't in Sept. 2008 in Kauhajoki, Finland a 22 year old shoot and killed 10. And a year earlier another guy 18 year old shoot up a school in Tuusula Finland killing 8?
