This was a visual attention experiment conducted by Becklen and Cervone(1983) to show that the human mind has its limits. There is only so much the brain can process at a particular time and it must be selective in what it chooses to filter. Watch this short clip very closely...

my psych. book said it was done by neisser in 1979..and later on by the other 2 guys in 1983

Woohoo! Counted all 20 and saw the girl, but I didn't think much of her. I also was unsure of my count near 6 or 7.. But stood my ground and got the right number of passes. Interesting, proof that we should trust our initial senses.
