Highlight Film of the late Stephen Jackson, who passed away on March 8, 2007. He was a talented RB for the nationally known Merced Bears, Mythical 1990 State Champs.

wow he reminds me of the NFL's Steven Jackson, he has the size to break alot of tackles, and the speed to pick up alot more yrds after breaking the tackles, tremendous player, very srry for the loss, he was a tremendous athelete, n im sure if I met him at all I would be saying that he was also a wonderful person at heart

It is a sad thing that happen to this guy... My dad was a football coach in the central valley when Stephen Jackson was playing at Merced and knew the coach (Marc Speckman) at the time... I was about 10 years old at the time and got to see this guy play first hand, he was a stud and from what I hear a good guy... It is too bad that a tragedy like this had to happen to him, his family, and friends...

As a teammate of his, I knew him personally and got to see him up close. He was an amazing running back on a team of amazing running backs (Jhay R, John R, Anthony V. Hershel T.) I also sat behind him in a class. He was good natured, enjoyed writing raps and hanging with his friends. It still bothers me today, that he's not with us anymore. I wish more people could have seen these teams and that he would have taken it further. Have to see it to believe it. God bless his son and family.

I hope the family is doing well.. I too know how you feel when you lose somebody so young and it hurts, I greatly hope that his family will be ok and is getting great comfort....

Just watched the tribute video for Stephen, my condolences to his family and friends. The video left me wondering "What was his story?" Besides being a talented running back who is missed by loved ones. Why did he go so young? Was he ill? Was he a soldier? Was he a victim of some crime? Can someone post his story?Again, my condolences to his loved ones.

Stephen was shot and killed in front of his 11 yr old son in March of 2007. The assailant is in custody and awaiting trial. This tragic occurence took its toll on all that knew and loved Stephen. We will continue to keep his memory alive through his videos and photos. May GOD bless his soul.

He was a member of the 1989 and 1990 Merced Bears Section Title Teams. In 1990 they were mythical state champs. Under Coach Mark Speckman's tutelage , Merced became nationally known... Stephon Jackson was one of the main RB's in Speckman's stable of talented backs. Jackson received a scholarship from Washington State. He left behind an 11-yr old son. May God Bless His Soul.
