My names Daniel, I'm a 21 year old passionate about the problems our world faces. Why Me? What I do I believe?

1. I believe fathers should stop neglecting their responsibility. I grew up in a 'deprived community', and I'm on the management committee of a local organisation set up to tackle associated problems.

2. I understand (and have lots to say on) the issues small businesses face during a recession - I set up DanZFrance.com and DanZ.co.uk when I was 16. I believe the government should do more to help us take advantage of 'Europe'.

4. I have lots to say on the education system. I don't believe it provides an adequate understanding of the 'real world. I also don't believe it caters for those who have grown up in 'inner cities'.

5. I'm pro-political reform. I support the primary system for choosing parliamentary candidates often used in the US. Parties have too much power over who can and can't run. I also believe we should abandon the whip system (with the whip system politicians are more focused on 'pleasing their party' then they are in representing their constituents.

6. I'm not conservative, I'm not a liberal, I'm not a socialist, I'm a REALIST!

We need to keep our politicians on their toes, and we need to see real benefits locally as well as having a good debating / voting records nationally, and this is why I agree with the idea of Primaries for electing our representatives and holding them to real account.

Hi, I think that Daniel is the best candidate, he seems like he knows what is going on on the ground, and won't simply go on Question Time to further personal ambitious goals, I also like that fact that he doesn't have a clear left/right view, but is more concerned with actual issues. Daniel should definately go forward!

Meale would have been voted out in Mansfield long ago if the public could have voted for an alternative candidate. This is where the abuse of the system begins, where MPs are untouchable by the general public in safe seats.

This perpetuates the mentality that they can get away with 'making the most' of the system, and they lose touch with the voters and the common man.

The Expenses issue isn't directly about our democracy at its core - however, part of the problem is that once you're in as an MP, if you get a safe seat, that's where the democracy ends, and that isn't right. And that is where Parliament and our Political Parties start becoming like an old boys' networks.

p.s. I think you're right about having local Primaries. I'm from just up the road in Mansfield, where Alan Meale has been in the seat for more years than I care to recall, but this guy does nothing for the town of Mansfield and has unsurprisingly been caught with his fingers in the till in the recent Expenses scandal.
