Notes:
I forgot to mention in the video, but this radar gun can track speeds in Miles per hour and also Kilometers per hour. It's very easy to use, just point and hold the trigger down for the entire fly by pass. Then let go of the trigger and it will display the fastest speed recorded during the time the trigger was pressed down. Overall rcFoamFighters gives this product a 5-Star rating based on the quality of build, ease of use, and great value. Also it must be noted that it has a great fun factor. For $69.99, it's a great tool to have for any RC pilot. I'm sure this Radar Gun would be great for tracking other objects too. Get yours today and see just how fast your planes are.

  • how much is the 1st airplane

  • Azer831, the plane is scratch built or homemade not store bought. I probably built it for about 100 dollars minus the radio transmitter..

  • Love the planes and that is one allsome radar gun to bad i wrecked my plane into a pine and it caught fire lol... still was good the first 2 days of flying :D got any ideas of a another good plane i coud buy? (*5 stars)

  • x1iD Thanks. Sorry for the delay replying. Oh man, sorry to hear about your plane. At least you had 2 days of flying! Well hopefully tyou were able to salvage some of the parts. I guess it all depends on what type of plane you want and your budget. Planes to reccomend, also depends on Flying Skill and style. I alwayr reccomend building your own. There are good RTF planes too, the Park Zone Stryker is a good ready to fly plane. It's just not as durable as some scratch built EPP planes though.

  • awesome planes and great review of the radar gun!

  • Thanks paulfranke for your comment! I like your user name, haa haa, My Name is Paul and my bothers is Frank, we both do the videos for this channel.

  • Following the plane with the radar gun will give you a slower speed reading then actual speed. The gun needs to be held still and the plane needs to fly at it (dangerous for the operator). The Speedster III model can be used on a tripod and set in continuous reading mode. Make a pass then go read the speed.

A doppler sound spectrogram reading will also be inaccurate if using the sound file taken from a recording device that is following the plane. Has to be stationary for accuracy.

  • Check out Voltron who have an onboard mini gps for about $80

  • That radar gun has been out for many years.

  • You need to be in line with the plane. The further you are off line the less accurate the reading.

  • don't move the gun when reading speed.. it can set the speed off by up to 15km

  • The new Speedster III with digital wireless display is out & could be reviewed.

  • think i will get this for my rc car looks awesome i wanna see if it can do its advertised 80mph

  • Cool radar gun! One thing to keep in mind -- if there is wind during your speed test and you want to get a better estimate of the true air speed of the plane, measure the down-wind speed passes as well as the up-wind speed passes and then average them to help factor out the wind effect on your measurement. I used a doppler sound spectrogram & calculator (free software) of your YouTube video (audio) and got pretty good speed match with what your radar gun showed...

  • thanks, i've been looking for a good radar gun, and you guys helped me find one, i love the quality of your planes you make and look at my planes, no comparison, greatvids and happy flying!

  • Thankyou very much for the review guys have been loking for speed gun and you helped me make the right decision great review AAA+++
