This is the classic "Rhythm" chord progression based on C-Am-F-G7 chords. "I Got rhythm" was written in 1930 by George Gershwin. It's been a hugely popular song and a jazz standard.

I've arranged it here in C - it's all done within the range of the first three frets - and added a slow chorus in close-up with chords superimposed, just to show you what I'm doing with the fretting hand.

  • Hello Will ,

I have also a XC1T since 2 years . Mine was a 2nd hand without any electronics. I am thinking in adding one . I have the impression you do not have the Ellipse system anymore inside , did you change it for another ? Would you recommend any ? In terms of string I still use the D'Addario EJ 16 , anything you have experienced that is even better? thanks

  • I swapped out the Ellipse system for a Baggs iBeam, and I use Elixir Nanoweb strings (.012-.053 gauge). :-)

  • Ok thank you Will , do you feel the Nano are providing a warmer sound with more bass than the D'Addario EJ 16 . the impression I get with my XC1T is that while it opened up since it is two years old and sustain is now very strong ( looks the top is vibrating a lot ) it is becoming more bright and sounding a bit more Taylor like which I tend to prefer less? Any views on this from your side ? or maybe just my current set of strings is a bit too new ....

  • Well, I like a very bright, clear sound without too much booming bass, so the Nanos do me fine. :-)
