Dundee is playing a major role in the UK's first national breast cancer tissue bank. The revolutionary new facility - launched today - involves a unique collaboration between four leading research institutions and the NHS. It will allow experts to gather vital information about cancer and its characteristics and is aimed at translating science into treatments. In other news; A man has appeared in court accused of killing a pigeon by ripping its head off with his bare hands. Jonathan Leslie is alleged to have caught the bird in Abbey Park in St Andrews in September last year. At Cupar Sheriff Court he denied the charge of recklessly killing it by removing its head with his hands. And in sport; Tennis and Andy Murray says he's closed the gap on World number 1 Novak Djokovic despite losing a thrilling semi-final in Australia. Murray led by 2 sets to 1 but ultimately the Serbian was just too strong and clinched the match in five sets and will meet Rafa Nadal in Sunday's final in Melbourne. This is an international version of the news that may have been edited for rights reasons.
